Slipping away...
Well, summer is quickly wrapping itself up! Our lazy days will soon be replaced with school work, soccer practice and ballet! Gone are the days of laying just your head inside the house......

Celebrations Galore!
This weekend was a very special weekend for our family! On Sunday, Kaitlyn was baptized by Jeff! She had expressed a desire to be baptized months ago and we were waiting to find out when our church would do their annual baptism service. We were so excited when we found out that it would be held on July 19th, on Kaitlyn's birthday!!! We could not be more proud of her and her desire to follow the Lord in all that she does.
We started the day with breakfast in bed.....
Then the baptism service, I don't have any pictures, because the church was having it all videoed and photographed! (I'll post them later when I receive them) It was so nice just to watch and experience the whole and not have to worry about getting the perfect picture!
That evening Kaitlyn and her best friend Zoe had a sleep over! They did it all.......dress-up, nails, hair, make-up, movie, cake and ice cream, pillow fights.....they talked until 12:30 am and awoke at 6:30 am to continue!
These two have been friends since they were babies! We are so thankful for their friendship! We had an awesome day celebrating an awesome girl! We love you Kaitlyn! Happy 9th Birthday!

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
When Kaitlyn turned 4 years old, my parents bought her this little bike (well, almost this exact one, except her tires were black). She does not fit on it anymore and we bought her a new bike a couple of weeks ago. Instead of giving it away, we decided to transform it into a new bike for Jack!
1 can of Silver spray paint: $4.19
Sandpaper: $5.47
New bike tube (flat back tire): $4.99
Black handle bar grips: $7.19
Black seat cover: borrowed from Grandpa (used to be on Uncle Scott's old bike)
Cost of the "NEW" bike: $21.84
24 hours later......
We would like to find some cool decals or something to spice it up a little, but he LOVES his new bike! Hooray for making old things new!

The Wounds of Summer
Jack + Running + With Flippers on + The Diving Board =
(He's a skinny kid, but in the picture he's sucking his tummy in, please don't think my child is malnourished!)
Apparently it looks worse than it feels, because he spent all afternoon doing this:
This was their first experience with a slip 'n' slide. I showed them how "it was done." Oh my word. There should be a warning label, "Not for adults over 30 years old." I slid all the way down but it was more of a "thunk" and then a slide. It wasn't pretty! But the kids had fun and the boys only ran on it twice, resulting in them hitting the back of their heads. I hope they learned their lesson!
Wishing you all a SAFE and fun 4th of July!
